I paid my fees upfront this year but I may want to defer them next year. Do I have to submit another eCAF form?

Question:

I paid my fees upfront this year but I may want to defer them next year. Do I have to submit another eCAF form?

Answer:

No. You only require one approved HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP form and one approved SA-HELP form for your entire course.
Once this has been done you can decide how you wish to pay each session. If you wish to defer your fees (and you are eligible) you do not need to do anything further provided you have vallid eCAF forms with your tax file number on them. Alternatively, if you are paying upfront for a session, simply do so by the session's payment due date to avoid any penalties (this is normally 4 weeks before the census date for session 1 and 2). Please note: this is separate to the census date.

You will only need to do a new form if you change degrees or take a break from your studies for a year or more.

If you have already completed a FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP (which ever applies for your course) and wish to also defer the Student Amenities Fees and are eligible  you can follow the steps below:. Please note the SA-HELP form must be completed on estudent by the relevant census date to take effect for a session.

The SA-HELP form can be completed as follows:

1. Log onto estudent
2. Click on the My Offer
 or My Finances tab
3. Click on the Submit new Commonwealth Assistance Form link
4. Choose the course you are currently Admitted into.
5. Click on Request for SA-HELP Assistance For
m then click on Enter Form
