When do I need to submit my eCAF?

Question:

When do I need to submit my eCAF?

Answer:

Commonwealth supported students  - you must complete an eCAF as soon as possible after you have been offered a place in the course and have decided that you are going to accept this offer. Please complete an eCAF before you are admitted into your course to ensure your enrolment is not delayed. If you intend to take out a HECS-HELP loan (i.e.Australian citizen wishing to defer your fees to the Australian Taxation Office), you will need your Tax File Number. If you intend to pay up-front you do not need your Tax file Number. You can submit your HECS-HELP application first without a tax file number (you must state an intention to pay your fees upfront) and supply your tax file number later through emailling your student number and tax file number to eCAF@mq.edu.au. Once the tax file number is received your fees will be deferred as long as this is before the relevant census date.

Domestic fee-paying students - if you are an Australian citizen and wish to take out a FEE-HELP loan you may complete your eCAF before or soon after enrolment, and before the census date for the unit. You will need your Tax File Number.

If you wish to take out a loan for Student Amenities Fee then you will need to complete a separate SA-HELP eCAF also before the relevant census date. You will need your Tax File Number.
