While participating in a PACE International activity, will I be able to explore the community and country away from the project? Do I get time off?

Question:

While participating in a PACE International activity, will I be able to explore the community and country away from the project? Do I get time off?

Answer:

Activity structures depend on location and time available, but there is generally time to explore the local community.

Most PACE International activities will include two days off per week for you to unwind, explore your cultural surroundings and continue team bonding.

Travel beyond the city you are located in is not allowed during the activity without consultation with PACE International or your in-country manager and you partner organisation. This is due to activity and risk management procedures and to make sure that you do not miss out on anything during your activity. There may also be organised tours beyond the city limits included in your project.

If you intend to travel independently before or after or on weekends during your activity, we advise you to purchase your own travel insurance as your Macquarie University travel insurance only covers you for your activity. Please note that all pre-departure sessions are compulsory and conditions apply to your Macquarie University insurance coverage.
