I am an international student. How can I better prepare for my University experience?

Question:

I am an international student. How can I better prepare for my University experience?

Answer:

To make your arrival in Australia easy and stress free, read through this arrival information prior to your departure from overseas.

You should arrive at least one week before your classes commence to allow for time to adjust and adapt to your new environment. This week is called Orientation Week (or 'O Week') which we recommend that all international students attend.

During this week you will have the opportunity to experience:

  • a welcome to your Faculty from key staff and current students, including meeting your Macquarie University Mentor
  • face-to-face support completing your enrolment and collect your campus card
  • a range of information sessions and workshops about support, services, study and life at Macquarie
  • a week full of social activities and events where you will meet people, explore the campus and our beautiful city
