I have applied for the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS). Will I have to pay a late fee if I don't pay my fees by the University census date?

Answer:

You will not be charged a late fee if you:

    •    are an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident on a humanitarian visa

    •    will be living in Australia while studying

    •    have supplied your tax file number (TFN) or a Certificate of Application for TFN.

Any unpaid fees will automatically be deferred to the Taxation Department.
