What do the different levels in the handbook mean?

Question:

What do the different levels in the handbook mean?

Answer:

You may notice in the Handbook page for your degree, a list of units and these units indicated different levels, ie 1000 level, 2000 level and 3000 level.

1000 level units are typically your introductory or first year units and form the basis of your knowledge within your degree or major. 1000 level units are usually the prerequisites for 2000 level units, and 2000 level units for 3000 level units.

These prerequisites tend to be specific units and/or a certain amount of credit points that are required to be completed beforehand.
